Single & childfree in my 30s

I’m childfree by choice.

On Mother’s Day at work this year, someone called me selfish for not having children. “Yeah!” I exclaimed, “I am selfish!” 

The truth is not that I’m selfish, however, maybe conscious would be the right word. You can imagine the plethora of reasons I have for not wanting to bear children. I simply don’t want to identify as a mother.
