Double robbery 💰
I was living at 315 Mona Avenue, a detached two-story house, in Vanier with my boyfriend Jesse Larocque from October 2021 to January 2022, before he overdosed and died in our bathroom upstairs.
I told the wrong person he had died. His name was Sebastian Beauvette. We knew the most nefarious street kids and this guy was one of them. I told Beauvette Jesse was dead and the next day I got robbed. The robbers broke a hole in this glass window in a door at the back of the property and reached in to unlock the door. The first time they robbed me, they took all my electronics (two Macs, a television, a speaker, my GameCube), make-up, jewelry, some clothing and the keys to the front door. Jesse’s set.
I called the cops, took the rest of my valuables out of my house, and tried to board up the door with my girlfriend Sandra that day. I retreated to my parent’s house. I went back to Mona only to figure out they had gotten Jesse’s keys, let themselves in, and robbed me again. This time they got another TV that I hadn’t removed the first time around, and Jesse’s air-fryer.
Now, getting robbed is something I’m used to. I have been robbed several times throughout my life. It has to do with the fact that I’ve been surrounding myself with the wrong people. Bad characters with bad intentions. My life is completely different now. I’ve learned many lessons.
The one thing I’m thankful for? Sebastian and his cronies never got my bike, which was in the shed out back. The cops documented all the stuff I lost, and I had insurance. I got thousands of dollars back for my belongings. We had receipts for my Macs. It doesn’t compare to the loss I feel for Jesse. I never look at that time in my life like I got robbed. I look at it like I lost my boyfriend.
The reason I shared this story was to remind myself that life is beautiful and to do the right thing. I hope I never get robbed again.
Vanier, wonderful place.
