Hand tatts

This is my left hand. I have a Sphynx cat with jewelry on. Lits did it. I stole the idea from another tattoo shop when I was visiting my friend at work. I e-mailed the original artist but she never got back to me so I got Lits to do it. When the original artist found out I stole her art, she commented on my picture saying it looks like I have a ballsack tattooed on my hand.

I also have "Jays" on the top of my wrist. Jays is a graffiti writer from Montreal who died while he was painting graffiti 10 years ago. It is important to note I didn't know Jays, but he was friends with my friends. Chris Colman did the tattoo. It was one of his first, I traded him a kiss on the cheek for it, and he tattooed me in his apartment that day.

This is my right hand. On it is a jester girl looking out from behind a chainlink fence. I posted on the internet looking for a tattoo artist to do my hand and a girlfriend of mine told me her husband tattoos. That day, I went to see John C. at what I didn't know was Rob Chamber's tattoo studio, Rare Form. Here is a video of my right hand from the day it was tattooed.

I have a "Jesse" tattoo above that. Jesse was my ex-boyfriend, a guy who I was in love with for 11 years, since the day I met him. Finally I dated him for about 10 months, but he died of an overdose in my bathroom in Vanier. I got the Jesse tattoo on my wrist because I always had this secret thing about wanting to tattoo someone's name there. I got it before he died. We visited my mother and he said to her, the day he met her, about my tattoo, "I told her not to do it." My mother laughed. It's art, though, and now that he's dead I especially don't regret it.

Here is the last of my hand tattoos. I got it when I was visiting Toronto, before I moved there. The story is, I stole the idea from Michelle. She has "loyalty" and "respect" tattooed on her hands in the same spot. I asked her if I could copy her idea. I got the respect too, but from a different artist, and I ended up getting the respect tattoo removed. Removal of tattoos is painful and expensive but I found a guy who did it in his living room for $20 a session. It took like 10 sessions. But it's gone. The loyalty remains, however!
